The Innovation Lab is located on the main level of Leyburn Library. There are 18 computers--6 Macintosh Computers and 12 PCs. The computers have multimedia software and various research and analytical software on them.

Yes. The Outlook plugin for Box is compatible with Microsoft Outlook versions 2013, 2010 and 2007. There is no Outlook plug-in available for Macs.

The file upload limit in Box is 5GB. This is a system wide setting that cannot be changed.

Unfortunately, no. It cannot be pre-installed in the lab environment.

That said, you may certainly use Box Edit. Box Edit will prompt you to install it any time you log into a computer, log in to your Box account, and then attempt to edit a file.

No, unfortunately not. From the Box.com website:

Box for Office is not compatible with the following products:

• Office 2007 or older
• Windows XP or older
• Any version of Office for Mac
  • Unfortunately, the Mac version of Office is not nearly as extensible as the version on Windows, so it is not currently possible for developers to create as rich of an integration.

Deleted files remain in the Box at W&L trashcan for 30 days, during which time, the owner can restore the file if needed. There are an additional 14 days that Box Admin can recover the file after that. If you have questions, please contact the information Desk by emailing help@wlu.edu or by calling (540) 458-4357.

You will have 30 days after your departure date to move your data out of your W&L Box.com account. At the point that your W&L network account becomes inactive, you will no longer be able to access your W&L Box.com account.

Go to Box.com and create a personal account using a personal email address, such as a gmail or yahoo account. in your W&L Box.com account, add that account as a collaborator on the files you'd like to move. Log into the personal account and download the files that you need to that account.

Box will not run on Mac 10.6.8. Apple dropped support of Mac 10.6.8 in February 2014, and since it's not being updated with security updates, Box has dropped their support of the operating system.

• First check out your page in Ingeniux
• Click Edit
• Right click in a Cell adjacent to where you want the addition and then drop down to either column or row
• Your options are to add before or after where your cursor is located
• If you don't like where you have placed your cell just right click in the emptey cell and delete the row or column
  

Audacity is a free, open source software for recording and editing sounds available at: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/   The download works on both Macintosh and PCs.

Audacity is installed on the computers in the Innovation Lab in Leyburn Library on the main level. It is also on the computers in Parmly 302. 

Audacity is on the American Saddlebred and the Morgan images in the Stable.

1. Get  the slide scanning positioning plate and light bar from the Information Desk
2. Place the positioning plate on the scan bed.
3. On the back of the scanner, find the round TMA port and plug the light bar into it (with the indicator arrow on top).
4. Fit the slides/or negatives into the light bar using the built in adapters.  (Note: Make sure that the shiny side of the slide/negative faces the scanner glass not the lightbar).
5. Place the light bar (load with slides/negatives) in the positioning tray.
6. Press the Scan Picture button on the front of the scanner.
7. In the HP Scanning dialog box, select “Scan slides using transparent materials adapter” or “Scan negatives using transparent materials adapter”. Click Scan.
8. When you are finished scanning, click Scan to scan another slide or negative, or Click Done.

You cannot edit the information of members of a distribution list, but there is a workaround:

In Outlook on a PC:

1. Click on Contacts
2. Click the New button to create a new Contact
3. Fill out the Contact information
4. Click on Save to save the contact
5. In the File menu, choose File > New > Folder
6. Name the folder (My Study Abroad Students, for example)
7. This folder should now appear in the left menu at the very top under "My Contacts"
8. Now you can click and drag the newly created contact into the folder.
9. Repeat these steps for all the Contacts you want to add to the folder

If Check-Out and Check-In are enforced on a document library, the "Edit in Browser" feature will not be available. You'll have to open the file in Word, or Excel, depending on the type of file, in order to edit it.
