Why am I getting an error message when importing video from Flip Camera? (link) |
There is a problem running the latest version of FlipShare (the software that manages all your Flip videos) on older PCs. Basically, the software detects the processor on your computer and if your processor is not up to its standard, it will shut down, giving you an error message.
The solution is to download and install the older version of Flipshare. First uninstall Flipshare (Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs), then download and install "Flip Video For PC" v3.7 from here:

Why do I get the message "Outlook is trying to retrieve data . . ." (link) |
Issue:
Occasionally Outlook will freeze and a message will pop up stating "Outlook is trying to retrieve data from the Microsoft Exchange server MEXMBA.ad.wlu.edu."
Reason:
This is most often caused by there being an overly large number of items in the folder of which Outlook is attempting to display the contents. Outlook must perform several operations against the Exchange server to retrieve the contents of a folder. Therefore, when there are many items in a folder, additional processing is required to respond to the Outlook requests.
Solution:
You can help avoid poor performance in Outlook by carefully managing the number of items in folders, especially the Outlook folders that are heavily used (such as the Inbox, Calendar, Tasks, and Sent Items folders).
For the best performance of Outlook, we recommend that you not exceed 5,000 items in any one folder.
Additional Information:
Operations that depend on the number of items in the folder include adding a new column to the view, sorting on a new column, finds and searches. Additionally, the complexity of the requested action will have an impact. For example, marking all items in a folder as Read will take much longer than marking one item. Other actions that may take a long time include retrieving free-busy information for lots of users on a meeting request, or performing a search across multiple folders. If you are frequently performing complex actions, or have high use of the Contacts and Calendar folders, the probability that you will experience decreased performance because of high item counts is greatly increased. When user logs in to check their quarantine queue, they are unable to select a message. The error they receive is that the message does not exist in their queue and they are logged in as the wrong user. The error message suggests they log out
and login again, but the problem remains. (link) |
From: DigiTar Support
This is usually caused by the following situation:
1.) The user is logged in as a@b.com. 2.) In the user's inbox there are two digests, one for a@b.com and one for c@b.com. 3.) The user is clicking on a message in the c@b.com digest in their inbox which tries to link them into the Portal directly to that message. 4.) However, since they are logged in as a@b.com, they have no rights to the message.
To remedy the situation they need to examine the subject line of the digest they are clicking on, and log into the Portal as the user specified in the subject of the digest. |

The LifeSize Passport is a point-to-point communications device that uses standard internet infrastructure to transport the audio and video to the other end.
Dialing is done by “calling” the destination unit’s IP address. Just as every phone has a phone number, every device connected to the network has an IP address. The person you are calling will give you their IP address and you will “dial” that number. This is an example of a typical IP address – 137.113.161.15.
